peonies + tulips

LOVED this polaroid gallery on the new york times today.
sadly polaroid has discontinued their instant film line, but the impossible project has taken to resurrecting it for the masses. i’m in.

words—and pictures—absolutely cannot capture how serene this beach was. after hiking through a dense rainforest and over ancient driftwood to get there, it feels like you’re coming upon the edge of the earth.

back from seattle! maggie and i enjoyed four straight days of cloudless 68.5 degree weather in the rainy city and olympic peninsula. and we savored every drop. we drove to the top of the snowy caps of hurricane ridge, hiked through the temperate hoh rainforest, climbed our way onto the foggy beaches of la push, joined trendy seattleites at late night happy hour spots, tasted the flavors of the northwest at pike place, perused the stalls at the fremont sunday market, picnicked on the shores of lake union. i fell in love with the city. LOVE!
of course, i’ve yet to see it in the rain.
above is the seattle skyline at dusk as seen from kerry park. it is truly breathtaking. city skylines are one thing i could sit and watch for hours…
can you see a faint silhouette of mt. rainier in the background?
