today, i woke up EXTRA early to watch the news, and thought to myself: “today’s going to make history.”

and it did! no matter how people feel about obama, he makes me feel proud to be american. here’s a guy not from a military family, not from a family of old money or politics, who fought against enormous odds to get here. there’s hope for change yet.

also glad election day is over simply because… well, it was starting to get really nasty.  i have been appalled by the comments and attitudes of my own friends in the last weeks–those who i generally respect intellectually, going on about things that they clearly didnt understand and attacking each other. frustrating to say the least. im just going to try to forget about all that stuff now that the election is over.
